Blood Orange
Blood orange , Citrus Sinensis Ssp.sanguinella
The blood orange stems from the Rutaceae family and is native to Africa, America, Asia and Europe. Its oil is extracted from the peel using a cold pressing method. In skin care, it has antiseptic, antibacterial, detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. It vitalizes the skin and has fungicidal effects. Blood orange is often used in products that fight against cellulitis. It should not be used before sunbathing, as it may cause light spots on the skin.
In aromatherapy, blood orange promotes sleep, is harmonizing and invigorating. It may be used to calm nerves, stress and imparts self-confidence and vitality.
